Maroon Bells Scenic Trail - visit this beautiful wilderness area in the heart of the Elk Mountains to see these iconic mountains. Take the free shuttle bus to the beginning of the trail, which starts 16 km or 10 miles west of Aspen. The shuttle buses depart from Rubey Park Bus Station (430 East Durant Ave) in Aspen every 20 minutes between 8am and 3pm. Walk the route which is 1.9 miles or 3 km of moderate hiking next to the lake. Other trails start here if you would like a longer hike. 

Sightseeing Tickets - ski lifts to the mountains - choose a Single or Three Day or Season pass tickets on either Aspen Mountain's Silver Queen gondola or Snowmass's Elk Camp gondola or chairlift, to get up to four mountains and hike or see the spectacular scenery. Hike through aspen groves, wildflower meadows, see alpine lakes and trickling streams in the Elk Mountains. From Aspen Mountain take the Aspen Mountain Nature Trail, Richmond Ridge Trail or the Ajax Trail. Remember weather can change quickly in the mountains and make sure you are prepared.

'Amazing stay in Aspen. The house was perfect for a family of 6. The pics are very accurate. The property manager was responsive when we had questions. The kitchen was well-equipped. The location couldn't be beat-- we walked or road bikes to everything in town. We would definitely stay here again.'
