Sentiero del Viandante or Wayfarer’s Path - this is a scenic 75 km hike on the eastern lake Como from Lecco to Morbegno, with many shorter stages, easily accessed by ferry.

Salita Serbelloni in Bellagio - stepping into this enchanting street, you will enter into the Italian dream. This cobbled street in the centre of Bellagio is a must for its atmosphere, local art and handmade crafts, scenery and architecture. One of the most beautiful streets on Lake Como and most visited for its beauty, cafes and restaurants. Why not end the day here, with an aperitivo?

Alright, I admit, it is not strictly a cottage, but the lakeside location and stunning historic villa has me swooning. Stay in a modern 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment in this beautiful lemon neoclassical villa. This characteristic and charming building dates from 1611. Enjoy the terrace and gardens with sublime lake views. Parking is available, enjoy privacy and peace by the water away from traffic and crowds. A short walk to Torno for cafes and restaurants. Live a little.

'Beautiful Villa Apartment. Lovely spot to stay on Lake Como. Torno turned out to be a little gem with great ferry access, fun cafes and a great restaurant. The apartment has a spectacular balcony and steps down to the lake for a daily swim. Access to the villa's beautiful grounds felt like you were royalty and easy parking took the stress out of Como's vehicle challenges. The host couldn't have been nicer.'

'A wonderful place with a garden and a wonderful terrace. View of the lake and mountains. Large garden with a barbecue area. The villa is very interestingly designed. Stone, wood, steel and glass. This is the perfect combination for a vacation on Como. And of course lots of greenery.'

'We recently stayed at the cottage, perched at the top of the mountain just outside Bellagio, and it was a fantastic experience. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and provided plenty of helpful information. Their kitchen served outstanding food from Friday through Sunday. The views were breathtaking and expansive. Most importantly, the home was beautifully appointed, and we’re already looking forward to returning.'

'We spent 4 days at Fonte Di Mariella. The site is isolated in the mountains, which is what we were looking for above all! But barely a 10-minute drive from Lake Como and all its beautiful villages to visit . The host and his wife are very kind, always ready to make your stay pleasant. We had breakfast and dinner every day in their restaurant. We simply enjoyed the diversity of the dishes offered, all "homemade", fresh, fresh and more fresh. We will remember the homemade focaccia for a long time!!! We highly recommend this establishment.'

'The view over the lake is fantastic from all sides! You really do have the whole house to yourself, there is also an extensive garden so there is no one around, and your own walkway into the water is absolutely fantastic. The shower has a great jet, the bed was good. There are mosquito nets on most doors and windows, allowing you to air the room well at the end of the day. You are sitting right next to the road and if you are not used to it, it can make quite a bit of noise, but with the doors closed you hear absolutely nothing. Plenty of space for the sun but certainly also for shade. There are a few beach bars within 300 meters walking distance where you can get/eat excellent pizza, pinsa and pasta.'

'A welcome respite. This property is a bit off the beaten track for tourists, which was perfect for us. There's a full-service grocery nearby, a lake view, and a wonderful view of the far mountains, with the more touristed areas of Bellagio just a walk away. The host was very responsive when we had questions.'

'This place was absolutely magical. View is stunning. Hosts were amazing - very communicative. It’s a guesthouse on the grounds of a larger villa, but still feels very private. Great location on Lake Como and can walk to either the towns of Carate Urio or Moltrasio. Can’t recommend enough.'
