Shoe Cottage - there is a rhyme and book with illustrations for children and it goes something like this...
'There was a jolly old woman who lived in a shoe...'
This rhyme gives us an incredible visual image of a shoe as a home. Thousands of children (and child-at-heart adults) all over the world have been intrigued by this idea. And some people have even gone so far as to create a shoe cottage.
'The Jolly Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe' (1999) by Minnie McKnight, Ellen Kirk and Meri Dohmann.

'You need to stay at the boot! What a magical air BnB. Judy and Steve created such a beautiful oasis. Not only did we get to enjoy living in a giant boot, but we got to walk around the extended property and enjoy all their stunning sculptures and landscaping. If Abel Tasman weren't so close we would've spent our whole stay on their property. They stocked the kitchen with freshly baked bread, cookies, jam, and peanut butter which was sooo delicious. Coolest!'

Sadly, I found not too many shoe or boot or slipper cottages to stay in the United Kingdom. Lots of horse shoe cottages, and I did find some shoe maker's or cobbler's cottages, and they are lovely, whimsical and cosy.
