Although it looks like a witch could have lived here, the pesky black cat has been kicked out and the whole place swept clean with ultra modern efficiency. Now it is a 4 star chic comfortable, trendy, boutique experience. Zuper!

'Exceptional. An excellent hotel in a great location. Rooms were comfortable with everything you needed for a good stay and the bed and pillows were fantastic. The honour kitchen was great, well stocked and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was close to the old town without being in the hustle and bustle of the crowd which made it much easier accessing by car and free on-site parking was very much appreciated. We cannot rate this hotel highly enough.'

Burg Hotel - Rothenburg ob der Tauber – Bavaria - Germany

More like a cottage than a hotel, this historic 12th Century building is located on the outskirts of town, overlooking gardens and the beautiful Tauber Valley. This small cosy, well maintained family-run hotel has no nasty witches and only pleasantries to offer. Just 1.3 km from the train station.

'Exceptional. The visit to the place was an extraordinary experience. The building is magnificent, and the location is quiet, with a stunning view. The room is fantastic, clean, large, and, above all, very quiet. The building's location allows for parking and walking tours of the area. The breakfast is very varied. The view from the breakfast room is fantastic. The staff is very friendly and ready to help with everything.'

The leafy and misty Dandenong Ranges are only an hour away from the centre of Melbourne, but a world away. Curved, romantic roads sweep through the rainforest, tea houses and restaurants pop out of the woods and hiking through fairy dells in the national park is a must. With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms this cottage welcomes 6 guests in comfort.

'A magical and relaxing getaway in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. I had a wonderful stay at Fernhill Estate 'Gingerbread House'. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The location is perfect, surrounded by the rainforest and close to the charming Olinda village. This is a place where you can feel the magic and history of the Dandenong Ranges. I will definitely come back again.'

This home dates from the 1880's and fits 9 people in 4 bedrooms with all modern luxuries including a spa. A fully self-catering home away from home located in busy centre, but with private garden. Stylish and unique. Just don't try to eat the shingles.

'A gorgeous house for a lovely stay away. Has a very homely feel with the addition of a hot tub and pool table/table tennis table! The beds are extremely comfortable, the kitchenware was well stacked, lovely location with lots of privacy. Would recommend for large groups of people!'

'We had a very nice cozy stay. The cabin was everything we hoped for, and had a fully stocked kitchen with everything we needed. Also has a nice deck to enjoy morning coffee. Quiet peaceful location close to town. Great communication from owners. Would definitely return for another visit.'

This ultimate cute cottage has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and sleeps 3, the best thing about it is the charm. Or maybe the location. Or the design. Oh, its just so gorgeous. Way chilled out, man, I love it. 10 minute walk to coffee and brunch/lunch. Relax in nature. Tune into the vibe.

'Amazing Space! We had the most wonderful time staying at the Zen Den. It was peaceful, serene, quiet, so clean and well decorated and amazing energy. We are so grateful for finding this gem. The hosts were wonderful and great communicators. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet retreat in Idyllwild.'

Blue Cottage - Idyllwild - California - USA

A comfortable 1 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage which sleeps 3. Situated on a ridge with a view to the gorgeous mountain scenery and an expanse of pristine, unspoiled forest. Only 4 miles to town.

'Cozy Nature Retreat. This cabin getaway was everything we could have hoped for and a great home base for our first trip to Idyllwild. The space itself was warm, thoughtfully designed and was the perfect size for two of us (though could easily accommodate a few additional folks as well). Finding it and checking in were easy, everything was very clean, the setting felt private and secure, and the location made for easy access into town and local hiking spots. Time spent inside the cabin was cozy and comfortable - the highlights for us were making fires in the wood burning stove and cooking in the modern kitchen. Outside, our time was spent in the hot tub enjoying the incredible views and sunset, and with the absolutely wonderful cat caretaker of the property!!! He was such a sweetie and would talk us into long sits on the porch so we could enjoy more time with him. It was very hard to leave this magical spot and return to reality but we will certainly be coming back!'

Rumpelstiltskin Cottage - Fredericksburg - Texas - USA

Rapunzel, Rumpelstilzchen, Schneewittchen and Aschenputtel cottages are reminders of the German fairy tales, with 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom, a kitchenette and a patio. Relax in the garden, feed the ducks at the pond. Of course you can dance over the fire and chant your chant. Watch out, someone will be listening to learn your name. Your hosts Barbara and Heinrich are from Germany and bring some old world charm to Texas, including a cooked breakfast every morning. Ask them more about the fairytale and its meaning.

'Superb. The cottages were beautiful. It felt like we had stepped into a fairytale world. We loved the atmosphere that was created by all the little touches. The ducks were beautiful and very friendly! We also loved the homemade bread every morning!'

This professionally decorated guesthouse is full of rustic charm. A quaint and unique home ideal for 3 couples or family groups, with space for everyone.

'Roomy, great amenities, a wonderful place for a family with older children to have plenty of space for themselves. Walking distance to downtown, it suited our needs beautifully! Love the rustic feel with modern conveniences.'

'Loved every minute here. Highly recommend. Loved the overall charm and the attention to detail of design and decor. Feels like you're stepping back in time. We loved the location, very private with no close neighbours, looking over a cow paddock while enjoy sunset on the porch swing - delightful. Yet still only a small walk to town. Highly recommended.'
